Does Weight Watcher's Really Work?
I decided to do Weight Watcher's because it's very hard for me to follow low carb/low fat dieting. I wanted to be able to eat what I wanted but be accountable for my portion size. I downloaded the free app to my iPhone so I can keep track when I'm on the go. They give you 26 daily points that you can use and of course you get additional points if you work out. I try my best not to use my workout points. I do have a small problem with the extra 49 weekly points you are allowed. When I use almost all of those extra points I find that I don't lose any weight. I researched online and found that a lof of other people were finding the same difficulty. I adjusted my weekly extra points to allow myself only 20 instead of 49. Some might think that's really low but it's working for me so far! Most days I don't even use my daily 26 so the extra 20 isn't a strain. I usually use all of the 20 and I'm starting to lose weight. If you aren't losing with your 49 extra points I would start adjusting it to 40 and then lower it from there if need be. It's important to be aware of your portion size when logging in your food. This could make a drastic difference in your point values and if you're inputting it incorrectly you probably aren't losing any weight. I would love to hear success stories/pitfalls regarding Weight Watcher's since I've just started. Their website http://www.weightwatchers.com/ also has forums for support with other dieters. Another great diet that I swear by is Medifast, however it can be costly. If you have the money and want to try it I guarantee you will lose weight if you stick to it. I am considering going back on Medifast but I want to give Weight Watcher's a solid shot first.
