How to Make a Skinny Girl Margarita

Now I don't drink but when I did this was my favorite recipe especially when dieting.  It was created by chef Bethenny Frankel who also stars in the reality shows Skating with the Stars and The Real Housewives of New York City.

  • The Skinny Girl Margarita consists of 2 ounces of premium tequila, no Jose Cuervo here. Bethenny Frankel even says that you don't need to measure, just count 1, 2 and there's your two ounces. Next splash a tiny bit of Orange Liquor. I'm sure you can find any flavored liquor that would still work to your liking.

Then squeeze the juice out of four fresh lime wedges. Combine all of the ingredients over a glass of ice. Next is the frozen version of the Skinny Girl Margarita. Bethenny fills her blender just halfway with ice. She notes that but using too much ice makes the margarita too thick. Unless you like it that way, she prefer's an icy margarita with a little liquid on top like they do in Mexico. She also notes that you should always choose clear liquor. She says usually clear liquor gives you the lesser chance or lighter hangover effect in the morning. Since squeezing fresh limes can be so time consuming especially if you are having a party. Bethenny has her trick to get the juices out faster. She either pops the lime in the microwave for a few seconds, or she rolls them putting pressure on them with her hands on the counter. Then you cut the limes in half and squeeze out the juices.

Finally add all the ingredients into the blender and blend. Take a microplane grater and grate the lime peels into the blender. Sugar the rim of your margarita glass with half salt and half Splenda sugar. Finish it off by pouring your Skinny Girl Margarita in the rimmed margarita glass. These margarita's are only 96 calories!
